Mountain biking in South Tyrol
Your moutain bike territory
Naturns is located 550 metres above sea level right on the cusp of the Meran countryside and the Vinschgau Valley. For all different types of bikers it is the ideal starting point. For leisure cyclists you can take the Vinschger railway or bike-shuttle to reach the Reschen Pass and from here you have more than 80 kilometres of leisure cycling routes back to Naturns, Meran or Bolzano. A biking experience for the entire family!
The mountain biker will get his pulse racing with a selection of over 50 well marked alpine trails, including single trails, downhill trails and super up-hill classics. During spring the Sonnenberg Mountain, a unique bike-territory in the Alps, will be your destination. During summer you can cycle up to the glaciers. The many side valleys will give an incredibly varied selection of views during your biking adventures. Tours with the Otzi Bike Academy will make the self-guided GPS tours look old. Accompanied by one of 7 bike guides with South Tyrolean charm each tour will be twice as good setting out on your own.
Day tours with up to 2000 metres of altitude are not at all rare – especially in combination with easier tours through vineyards and apple orchards. The Transalp Tour – with MTB or road bike has also recognised the benefits of your biking area and is a regular visitor to Naturns.
Here you will find a number of cult bike tours
But the real speciality is the climate itself. Where else in the alpine regions can you indulge in your hobby almost throughout the year?
